Actually, I am not the kind of girl who likes eating in the place so called Angkringan, but who the hell knows that right now i have my favorite one. As you guys knew, i already stay in Yogyakarta for about 3 years and this place that i dear so much, rich with its culinary and it's obvious that the angkringan in Yogyakarta are different like in another town. The feels.


I don't know the certain reason why people like to eat or even just hang out in Angkringan when you know, the lighting and place somehow just a bit dark and not too comfortable (for me), with friends or etc but one thing for sure, it might be because its cheap prices and its simplicity. But, for certain Angkringan that i ever visited, it offered a little bit high standard prices and i was a bit surprised lol hm maybe because it's located in strategic area for tourists (re:Tugu).

Well, i just realized that every once a week (or even more), i'll come to my fave Angkringan and besides, its location is extremely near with my Kost-kostan, only 3minutes by walk. it is located in Hotel Madukoro's yard. And it is called with Angkringan Baba. 


What i love about this angkringan are, the humble ibu penjualnya and she is so kind! she even has a nickname for me haha she called me "cah ayu" everytime i came. Also, The meals and beverages. It only served nasi kucing as the main course. But, others snacks like Sate Puyuh, Tahu Bom, Sate Kulit, Gorengan, and etc also served too.

Talking about the prices, it is affordable kok. For 1 portion of Nasi kucing, its price about 3K. Nasi kucing nya pun juga banyak jenis lauk nya kok! ada ikan teri sambel (My favo), Ayam rica, Oseng tempe. seporsi nya kira-kira ya...sekepalan tangan lebih, ya namanya juga nasi kucing hehe. Kalo jajanan nya itu, paling mahal mungkin 4K ya buat sate telur puyuh yg isinya ada 5/4 telur.

Dan minumannya! I don't disagree about the very good taste of Susu Jahe (Ginger Milk) by her. Komposisinya selain ada jahe dan susu, juga ada gula jawa merah nya jadi rasa minumannya kayak pedes-pedes manis seger hangetin gitu deh haha. My favorite above all. kadang ke tempat ini cuma pesen minumannya doang.. Tapi, selain JaheSusu, minuman yang lain juga tersedia kok, jadi tenang aja kalo yang gak suka minuman tradisional. Harganya sih kurang lebih 7K. (Ginger Milk)


Buat ukuran tempatnya, lumayan nyaman buat Angkringan untuk orang seperti aku. dan bersih! this is a must! But, sekarang setiap malam mungkin sekitaran jam 10 malem keatas, angkringannya suka penuh karna banyak anak-anak pada nongkrong dan paling gasuka kalau ada asap rokoknya, so i prefer to take my foods away lol and besides makanan di tempat crowded i just cannot and ain't comfortable unless of necessity. (lah jadinya bukan makan angkringan dong namanya?) And FYI, Angkringan Baba bukanya pas jam 19.00-tutup. maybe around 24.00 WIB dan berlokasi di Jl. Tamansiswa, di pekarangan Hotel Madukoro. Worth the money deh pokoknya, Pas banget sama kantong anak kost.

When Breath Becomes Air was not my favorite but right now, it is one of in the list. Why? Because as i have finished read the whole pages, it taught me so much lessons. Such as about life, love, family, works, co-workers, and others that i cannot mention one by one.

The first time i knew about the book was when i unintentionally click random picture in explore of instagram and when i open it, it was from gitasav (one of insta celeb) and i went thru to the comments and someone said it was good and sad at the same time, then i screenshoot it and made it into my list to buy.

And someday, when i came into the bookstore, i was looking for Murakami's because dad's in town lol but ended up i didn't because it was expensive rather than in another store so i decided to buy another book and again, i intentionally found this!!! undoubtably, i picked it with love hahah and seek for other books and got into the cashier.

I unpacked it, and ripped the plastic to uncover it and started to read it.

My impression about the book was,

"Oh, this book, has an easy words to understand."
"Where's the part when he suffered the cancer?."

But then, i was wrong. The words of the book was filled with medical's verbality that i can not understand and it made me feels like i was a medical student for a moment lol.

This book, divided into two parts. the first part told about the story of paul when he's still young, still study for his residency, how he succeed his medical journey, how he was in the top of them.

and, the second part told about  story of paul when he suffered and fighting to his illness, even at the moment he ever had his good condition back, and even he was in OR operating patient, when he and his wife decided to have child, well, his wife Lucy was work in medical career too as anesthetist.

The story of this book was very emotional, when you have to sacrifice everything you've been built in the first place to the future but then, there was no future at all. About what's important thing to makes you hold out. About leaving our dearest people because you knew you didn't have much time.

Frankly, this book made me in tears at some part. I don't know if you guys (to people that have been read it or soon will be) would in tears too lol because i am such melancholic person.
