When Periods Hits You

By Fenty Erdiman - August 28, 2017

Sharing is Caring! so, I'd like to share a lil bit of my experience during my periods time. Well, every girl must know the feeling of this situation, and every girl has different kind of experience, but mine was completely sick for a few first day.

Menstruation or Menses is a shedding of endometrial tissue from the womb that is released through the vagina. Women have a period approximately every 28 days, however, there is some variation in this cycle, ranging from a 24-day to a 35-day cycle. A period is part of the woman's menstrual cycle. And i am in the long cycle like 30-day cycle or even more. It is usually takes time up to 5-7days but some woman have various periods. Well, that was a brief explanation about menses in general. However, i am not going to talk about some medic or so because i am not an expert nor a medical student but law hoho.

There were few symptoms of PMS (Premenstrual Syndrome) i felt in the days leading up to my periods, such as cramping in the lower abdomen, pain which radiates down the legs, nausea, feeling generally emotional or troubled, irritability, breast swelling, slight weight gain, abdominal bloating, acne in certain place but most of the time was in chin. But the most symptoms that hits me are i will be more sensitive, i felt the swelling of my breast and sometimes it hurts. And i am pretty sure, if you read this and you are a girl, then you have at least experienced it like me.

However, there are some of my friends that when i question their first day of periods, how did it feels like? did it hurts or just ordinary? and they answered it just went ordinary and no pain exist. Well...I envy them huhu because they are so lucky! Tapi, beberapa gejala tersebut hanya bertahan beberapa hari sebelum mau M kok, but it all depends on how long your body takes time or your hormones works, mine sometimes it took only 2 days before but sometimes 2 weeks before! so unpredictable, just like girls. phew.

And when the periods came.......the first day was like !"£$%^&* seriously. it felt like your womb started to fall down with an extraordinary bleeding. The shedding of endometrial tissues just felt so real haha i am so overact but that's so true. And fyi, if there are no important stuffs going on in the campus, I'll skip classes for a day in my first day lol and it often happened. And i ever have my unlucky experience was when i traveled in Singapore and i got it in the first day and obviously it felt like i wanna go home right now i can't take it anymore lol and my holidays became bothered and i got easily angry and very emotional. And it happened for twice:). When the pain is so severe that it interferes with normal activity, it is called dysmenorrhea.

Concerning the dysmenorrhea, These are following symptoms that happen to me: Cramping in the lower abdomen, Diarrhea, Headache, Low back pain, Nausea, Pain in the lower abdomen, Pain which radiates down the legs, Tiredness (fatigue), Weakness. Fyi, YES i got diarrhea during the first day of periods lol as i red in the articles, it is said because of the pressure of the cramping in the lower stomach so it made the contraction got harder.

What do i do during my periods? and particularly during dysmenorrhea? well, i used hot water bottle and holding one against the abdomen may help in reducing discomfort. i never took pills don't know why, just scared hm. And also helping myself to sleep, because in sleep you will lose every aches. that's the best relief actually. lol. And of course, the routine of exercise before periods but i seldom do this hehe.

Also, the application that helps me to observe my periods is Period Calender. thank you so much hehe.

Lastly, Thankyou for reading my experience during periods and do not hesitate to ask if you have question so that we can share and discuss together. hehe see you in another occasion peeps!

XoXo-F
